Red Starfish

Red starfish up to 20 cm in size, almost always with five arms but can appear with 6 or 7, which are rounded and pointed with the tip darker than the rest. The center disc is narrower. The surface of the body appears with numerous projections that are very prominent papules or bankial vesicles. The papules are not arranged in rows, and the skin is soft and glanded. The quills can be up to 1.5 mm long. Its skin is very rich in glands. The color can vary from brick red to very bright orange-red.
